Prabhu's Wedding Photos (31.05.2008)

My nephew, Prabhu (late sis Mary's eldest son) married his long-time sweetheart Madeleine on 31 May 2008 at St. Francis Xavier Church, Petaling Jaya. It was a great get together for the whole family and friends. Dinner was at IOI Palm Garden Resort at 7.30 pm that same day. Here are some photos of the family on that day. Xmas Party for Orphans at the Legend Hotel

Ed and his lil bro, Melvin were invited to perform at a Christmas party for about 200 orphans from an orphanage in Puchong, Selangor. This event was held at the Legend Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on 18 December 2008! They were there with Bro Daniel Gomez (the song writer - Mercy Love) and Rodney (the bassist). What better way to kick off the Xmas celebration!!! An added bonus for Ed and Mel was that Malaysia's singing sensation, Francesca Peters, was also there and they managed to sing a couple of Xmas songs with her on stage. A truly rewarding and enriching experience indeed for the both of them!!

Edward's First Major Band Performance

07 Dec 2008 was a very special day for Ed and the whole family! It was the Grand Finals of the Starmaker National Song Writing Competition and Ed's band (D'Basic) qualified for the finals! The song "Mercy Love" was written by Daniel Gomez and Ed played the lead guitar. Mum, Dad, Lil bro Melvin and Amamah were all there to provide moral and vocal support!! Have to also mention that Lil bro Melvin stood in for the drummer for the practice session and rehearsal as the drummer was away on an important assignment that morning. Melvin did a great job as a stand-in!! Didn't know he could play the drums that well!! Well known Malaysian celebrities graced the event (Amber Chia - Malaysia's First Super Model, and International singing sensation Zainal Abdidin, just to name a few). It was indeed a very proud moment for all of us as Ed and his band put up a fantastic performance. Ed's lead guitar solo that night captured many hearts and he has quite a number of fans on his list now (all GIRLS!!!). Here are some photos of the band and Ed performing! Cheers!

Here are more photos of our trip to Phuket. The elephant you see is named "Sinchai" and it became quite attached to my wife. So, when we were about to leave, it began to get restless and the mahout had to restrain it! Sandra sure looks groovy in the red helmet!!!

My wife and I had the rare opportunity to get some time together last December. So, we decided to chill out at Phuket, Thailand! It was a wonderful getaway but somehow, we missed our two sons very much once we were in Phuket. Must admit that things are a little pricey though! Thought I could get some cool bargains but it turned out otherwise! Anyway, it was a good trip! Here are some photos of that trip!

My MA Convocation

11 August 2008 - My convocation. I obtained my Master of Arts in English Language Studies majoring in Applied Linguistics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Bangi, Selangor. My wife, Sandra and eldest son, Edward were with me at the ceremony. We left home at 7.00 am and were in UKM by 7.30 am. The other members of the family were unable to make it cos it was a working day! Don't worry guys!! I UNDERSTAND!!!! Anyway, it was truly a joyous and momentous occasion for me and my family! After all the hard work, I've finally graduated!! My hearfelt thanks to my wife, sons and mother-in-law for all the support and encouragement! My mum and family members also deserve special mention! U guys were a real help! And not forgetting my professors in UKM too especially Dr. Jamilah (better known as Dr. Jamie). Here are some photos I would like to share with you all! Here are pics of the guests who were invited: Jack and family from PJ, Chandran & Dilpreet from Singapore, Mani Sockalingam & family from Melaka, Dato' Mani Usilappan from KL. Chandran was also at my mum's 60th birthday dinner in Penang way back in 1998 and was definitely not gonna miss this do!! He had to endure a lot of hardship and numerous obstacles enroute to Melaka!! Thank you very much guys for making my mum's birthday all the merrier and special!! Hope to see you all for mum's 80th birthday bash!!!!
